Author Biography

  • Bram de Klerck, Radboud University

    Dr. Bram de Klerck (1965) is Associate Professor of Art History at Radboud University, Nijmegen. He specialises in painting and sculpture of the Late Middle Ages and the Early Modern period, both in Italy and the Netherlands, as well as artistic relations between the two geographical areas. He has published monographs, articles and contributions to exhibition catalogues on, among others, artists in sixteenth-century Lombardy and Piedmont, and on Flemish painters like Frans Floris and Pieter Pourbus. Currently, he works on a research project about the Netherlandish-Sicilian artist Guglielmo Borremans. He has been a regular contributor to the Dutch newspaper NRC since 1996.
