A new beginning

Abstract

The editorial introduces a new phase in the history of Incontri. Rivista europea di studi italiani, renewing a forty-year tradition of interdisciplinary research in Italian literature, linguistics, history, art history, and culture. It thanks the previous editorial leadership and outgoing editorial team for their work, and announces that from 2025 the journal will adopt a new structure with three thematic sections (Literature, Linguistics, Art History), each overseen by a scientific coordinator, alongside a renewed group of managing editors. The reorganisation aims to strengthen the journal’s interdisciplinary vocation and quality control through rigorous, anonymous peer-review procedures based on criteria of originality, argumentative robustness, and methodological soundness. The editorial also highlights the relaunch of collaboration with WIS, KNIR, and NIKI and the commitment to addressing delays accumulated during the pandemic by restoring a regular publication schedule, increasing international visibility, and fully exploiting the potential of open access.
