Author Biography

  • Harald Hendrix, Utrecht University

    Emeritus professor at Utrecht University, Harald Hendrix served as Chair of Italian Literature from 2001 to 2025 and as Director of the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome from 2014 to 2019. With a background in early modern history and comparative literature, he has focused his research on Renaissance literary countercultures, the European reception of Italian early modern culture, the material and spatial dimensions of Italian and European literature (including city guides), and cultural exchanges between Italy and the Low Countries.
